Ural-375 car: specifications, description, engine, owner reviews

To date, there is a masscar brands. On the models, even we are not talking, because it is simply impossible to calculate the number of the latter. But if it comes to cars, then you need to understand that some have received special distribution. Some really know about the whole world. This happens when the name becomes a household name. That is, it is not just a brand and a concept, but rather a designation of a specific function.

Start from the beginning

"Ural-375" - just one of them such units.

Ural 375
Yes, he may not be recognized around the world, but in the CIS it's hard to find an adult who does not know what he looks like.

The decision to produce new models of cars waswas adopted by the Central Committee of the Communist Party back in 1958. As one of the main producers, the Ural Automobile Plant was chosen as the one. It is still located in Miass, near Chelyabinsk.

Mass reconstruction ordered by the governmenta huge country, it required a lot of money. The goals simply had to justify the means. But, if you look at the cars "Ural", then we can say that everything turned out to be as good as possible.

The purpose of the reconstruction, which was mentioneda little higher, is the need to create a new truck. Certain characteristics, incorporated into the scheme from the beginning, and became those guides, on which the plan strode.

The country needed trucks to operate in thehigh obstruction of the terrain. For this, it was decided to prepare a whole bunch of five-ton trucks. And this is not a joke, since mass production began as early as 1961, and since that moment a lot of such cars have left on the roads.

The history of the car "Ural-375" begins a little earlier.

Ural 375 specifications
Back in 1958, prototypes drove out onto the road. Strictly speaking, they just took part in the demonstration at the parade. Besides, it was not such a truck yet.

First attempts

That very first experienced couple was supposed to besomething completely new. Strictly speaking, there was not much. Mainly because for machines with the marking name "Ural ZIS NAMI-375" details from ZILs were used. At least one of the samples was generally equipped with a cabin from the one hundred and thirtieth model.

In addition, the design was sufficientserious flaws, which did not allow to use them, as was originally intended. For example, the engine ("Ural-375") in these "concepts" was, to put it mildly, not good enough. The parts quickly worn out, there were always breakdowns. Incorrectly worked whole systems, such as clutch or brakes. In addition, the scheme was not developed - bridges, as the basis of any machine, were not sufficiently rigid. The latter led to serious problems. It should also be noted that the borrowed cab was not sufficiently resistant to vibration - in conditions of impassable terrain this could become a critical factor.

Second step

They, as usual, turned out to be Ural-375. The scheme of its design was almost identical to today's. Despite the fact that it was almost a year before the serial release, for 1959 this was a serious achievement. The party that had already left the assembly line was equipped with cabs of its own production.

In fact, the car "Ural-375"specifications are pretty good. Even for the trial series. In addition, according to the order from the then Ministry of Defense, some changes were made. For example, an awning was installed above the platform, as well as above the cab itself. Glass could be removed. All this was due to military needs.

After the above experiments by the managementcountry was approved the beginning of mass production. The first results could be seen in November 1960. Then the "Ural-375" for the first time seemed to people exactly as it is now.

The first few years were devoted to fieldtested. Up until 1963, all checks confirmed the aforementioned technical parameters. In fact, all the time even recommendations for improvement were made. Engineers doubted some details, because they focused on the fact that there were no errors.

"Ural-375" - car mass production. One hundred ten thousand copies descended from the stocks.

Ural engine 375
Production continued until the collapse of the Soviet Union, that is, until 1992.

Such a quantitative influx is very easy.explained by the fact that they were used literally everywhere. Indeed, it was difficult to find some more common truck. Not as big as some KrAZ models, it still could easily drive across rough terrain, carrying a lot of various cargoes.

"Ural-375": technical characteristics

The engine of this truck-all-terrain vehicle passed under the label "ZIL-375". The design is V-shaped, with eight cylinders. Power is quite high, at 180 horsepower.

We should also note the centralizedsystem for changing tire pressure. For trucks designed to drive over rough terrain, this is quite an important factor. The gearbox installed here is five-speed. Also, the machine was equipped with a dual-clutch.

Another thing to say about the transfer case system. The fact is that there were two versions. It was hard enough for the older to control, since the manual control of the lever rearranged the front axle in one of three positions - off and on. This is only two, but the latter could be with a locked or unlocked center differential. The new version, which was included in the design in 1965, assumed a simplified mechanism to a large extent. So, the bridge was constantly on, but the center differential was established as a planetary type, with asymmetrical locking.

The control mechanism also needs to be discussed separately.

Ural 375 technical
The steering box was equipped with a special power steering - without him to drive such a colossus is difficult. The working brake was also produced with an amplifier, but already with a pneumatic one.

Truck Disadvantages

What technical features does the Ural-375 have? They tell a lot about the car itself. But everything was far from perfect as it seems at first glance.

First of all, in the reviews of the owners was calledhuge fuel consumption, which was spent on the engine. The indicator beat all records for cars of this class and was forty-eight liters per hundred kilometers. In winter, this figure reached 60 liters. The motor as a whole was a big problem for this truck. The repair resource for him was low, and the breakdowns that happened from time to time simply made drivers furious - it was difficult enough to fix something.

In 1977, a new version of the all-terrain vehicle - the Ural-4230. In many respects, he surpassed this model, but the technical characteristics of the "Ural-375" is more impressive.

Read more about truck models. Like many other domestic cars, the Ural-375 was often subjected to various changes. Everything is quite logical, especially considering the needs of a huge country in technology.

First of all, it should be noted "Ural-375D",which has completely replaced standard cars since 1964. The difference here was in the cockpit - if a tarp was used for the standard version, then it was already all-metal.

"Ural-375A" was designed to work in tandem with a body-van K-375.

Ural characteristics 375
They were released quite a lot, because the model came out pretty good.

"Ural-375E" was another modification of the chassis, asand the previous version. Only there was no sharpening for one type of body. It was supposed to use with different equipment, which happened, strictly speaking.

The "375C" model was a simple truck tractor based on this design.

To work in permafrost conditions, the "375K" was created - it was used in the Far North. For this purpose, special insulating materials were used in the cab, body and engine.

At one time, received widespread"375N", intended for the national economy. Externally, it differed in another body (just a wooden platform with opening sides), as well as the absence of an air intake pipe.

It is also worth mentioning that quite a few cars were used in the Armed Forces.

price of the Urals 375
On the basis of this all-terrain vehicle builtmany useful mechanisms. These were mainly tankers and construction engines, but there were other examples - the Terek radar systems or even the Grad multiple rocket launchers.

In general, this car was a very important milestone in the production of cars throughout the USSR. This is indicated by feedback from owners and drivers with experience.

Ural cars 375
Reliability tested over the years and confirmed by many good reviews, and therefore today you can find such trucks on the roads.

What is the price of "Ural-375"? Mass production has been discontinued, which means it is almost impossible to find new ones. But already in use ... In this case, the cost will depend on the degree of deterioration, as well as on the specific model. The average amount will be within this range - 6-8 thousand dollars. Expensive for a model out of production 20 years ago.

So, we found out what technical characteristics and price the Ural-375 truck has.
